* scripts/poky-qemu-internal: call stty sane before exitKhem Raj2011-03-311-2/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | When qemu is booted into console with -nographics then after exiting the terminal line settings are messed up. This patch calls stty sane to restore the terminal settings to default. stty is part of coreutils which is installed on all host distros hence there is no need to warn about it being available or not Signed-off-by: Khem Raj <raj.khem@gmail.com>
* scripts/poky-qemu-internal: Add rw to KERNCMDLINE for non nfs boots as wellKhem Raj2011-03-211-5/+5

* scripts/poky-qemu-internal: Pass -m <mem_size> always on commandlineKhem Raj2011-03-211-15/+17
| | | | | | | | | | | There is a nasty bug in qemu 0.14.0 where it over writes device memory if the default sizes was not specified on commandline. It can be worked around by this patch. I also simplified the memory size calculation logic a bit so we append 'M' to QEMU_MEMORY at the very end instead of sed'ing it afterwards Signed-off-by: Khem Raj <raj.khem@gmail.com>
* Shift a few env bits into scripts/bitbakeChris Larson2011-03-212-3/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | This attempts to separate the bits we *require* to run bitbake with oe-core via the wrapper script, and which are independent of the build environment (PSEUDO_DISABLED, PSEUDO_BUILD, BBFETCH2) from those which are more particular to poky-init-build-env's way of setting things up (e.g. adding MACHINE to BB_ENV_EXTRAWHITE, relying on OEROOT, etc). This should make it easier to use scripts/bitbake with non-standard workflows. Signed-off-by: Chris Larson <chris_larson@mentor.com>

* qemu: make warning messages consistent in formatDarren Hart2011-03-181-8/+9
| | | | | | | | | | Try to make the output of the qemu script a bit more consistent by using the same format for the various warning messages: WARNING: description of warning. * qemu: warn user if nVidia libGL is detected (leads to qemu segfault)Darren Hart2011-03-181-1/+13
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | nVidia's OpenGL libraries are known to have compatibility issues with qemu, resulting in a segfault. As different workarounds are required for the different distributions, just warn the user to explain the qemu segfault to follow, and suggest a workaround using LD_PRELOAD. * poky-qemu: handle cases where an nfs directory contains -image-Scott Garman2011-03-011-0/+6

* tar-replacement-native: Add a target to replace the default tarRichard Purdie2011-02-211-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | tar < 1.24 has symlink issues where extracting a tar archive containing a symlink to a directory where that symlink already exists will cause the symlink to be dereferenced. If that target doesn't exist tar can fail with a permissions error. Since we need to be able to do this for packages containing symlinks like xorg-minimal-fonts and eglibc, we have to ensure a tar 1.25 is available early in the build process. * fetch2: Add SRPM knowledgeMark Hatle2011-02-081-0/+53
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Enable the fetcher to be able to unpack and SRPM. By default the system will unpack the contents of the SRPM into the WORKDIR. A new syntax "unpack=file" was developed for the SRC_URI, to allow for a recipe to extract a specific file within an SRPM. An unpack operation will then be executed on the extracted file. In order to apply extracted patches (or unpack files not specified with unpack), you must specify the path using WORKDIR, i.e.: file://${WORKDIR}/mypatch.patch Signed-off-by: Mark Hatle <mark.hatle@windriver.com>

* scripts/bitbake: remove bashismsJoshua Lock2011-01-311-6/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | | As the BitBake script is the initial entry point for the system we need to ensure it can run in as many places as possible, including systems which aren't yest optimally configured for running Poky. * creating the rpmrepo metadataQing He2011-01-301-0/+89
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This includes two method for build rpm repo: 1. create the metadata in rootfs_rpm 2. standalone binary for building the metadata Not both of them are needed, generally #2 fits more for the purpose, but #1 may have its use on rootfs creation using zypper. Both share some problems and are subjected for future improvement: 1. the createrepo now builds metadata for the whole directory, if there are more than one arch, it builds for all, which means rootfs_rpm may run longer if more builds have been run. 2. createrepo builds metadata for stale rpms Signed-off-by: Qing He <qing.he@intel.com>

* send-pull-request: ensure a proper FROM header is includedDarren Hart2011-01-261-3/+26
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Commit 94629f2521711055b412f954af19e48b9bda6e50 removes the FROM header when sending via sendmail to avoid sending mail as the original change committer (as opposed to the local user). This resulted in mail going out without any FROM header, which some mailing lists correct by adding the *bounce address as the FROM. Correct this by reading FROM from the environment, from a new -f argument, or from the git user.name and user.email config settings, in that order of preference. Also display the FROM that will be used prior to the send confirmation. This has no effect if the -g (send via git) argument is specified, other than printing the git sendemail.from config setting. * send-pull-request: send all patches as the local userDarren Hart2011-01-241-1/+6
| | | | | | | | | | When using sendmail to send patches, patches would appear to be from the original author as git adds a From: header in the generated patches. This patch changes this behavior to match that of git-send-email, where the email From: header is that of the current sender (according to sendmail) and a "From: Original Author <email>" line is inserted into the body of the message. Signed-off-by: Darren Hart <dvhart@linux.intel.com>
* send-pull-request: unset $TO and $CC from environmentScott Garman2011-01-241-0/+4
| | | | | | | | | Darren Hart and I discovered that when $CC is set (which our meta-toolchain environment script sets up), the value leaks into the use of this script. Unsetting $TO as well just to be thorough. Signed-off-by: Scott Garman <scott.a.garman@intel.com>
* poky-extract-sdk: allow relative paths for extract-dirScott Garman2011-01-241-0/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | psuedo needs a full path to its pid file, so convert relative extract-dir paths to full ones. The symptom of this bug is receiving the following error: pseudo: Couldn't open relative/path/to/var/pseudo/pseudo.pid: No such file or directory This fixes [BUGID #670] Signed-off-by: Scott Garman <scott.a.garman@intel.com>
* qemuimagetest: Use same image during sanity testing instead of copying a new ↵Jiajun Xu2011-01-2025-77/+105
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | image for each case To reduce the time on sanity testing, we remove variable SHARE_IMAGE and use a new variable TEST_SERIALIZE in local.conf. It is by default set to 1. Poky will copy and boot the to-be tested image for only once. It will not remove or kill the image and test cases will be serialized executed against the same image. If it is set to 0, image is always be copied for each cases, which takes much time. I had a experiment that latest qemuppc sato only takes 7 minutes to finish 9 sanity test cases, which takes more than 20 minutes before. I also removed sanity case "boot" from sato/sdk/lsb because the other cases for these targets already cover the check point of "boot". Signed-off-by Jiajun Xu <jiajun.xu@intel.com>
* qemuimagetest: Use the same image in sanity testing to fix the timeout issue ↵Jiajun Xu2011-01-1425-24/+36
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | on autobuilder Fixes [BUGID #595] Because of the QEMU booting slowness issue(see bug #646 and #618), autobuilder may suffer a timeout issue when running sanity test. We introduce variable SHARE_IMAGE here to fix the issue. It is by default set to 1. Poky will copy latest built-out image and keep using it in sanity testing. If it is set to 0, latest built-out image will be copied and tested for each case, which will take much time. Signed-off-by Jiajun Xu <jiajun.xu@intel.com>
* bbvars.py: add a script to look for undocumented variablesDarren Hart2011-01-121-0/+186
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | bbvars.py will compare recipes in meta directories with documentation files and report on variables that don't appear to be documented. It reports the number of times a variable is used as well as any doctags present in the documentation config file. The output of this is intended to aid in determining where documentation may be lacking, but it is not perfect, and does generate some false positives. An experienced eye and careful attention to count and doctag should be applied to the results. $ ./bbvars.py -d ../../documentation/poky-ref-manual/poky-ref-manual.html -m ../../meta -t ../../meta/conf/documentation.conf -T | head -n 10 Found 1413 undocumented bb variables (out of 1578): VARIABLE COUNT DOCTAG =================================================== BUILD_ARCH 4 The name of the building architecture.
